Biography

PATJE takes his inspiration daily from images in his mind. Influenced by the growth of singer songwriters from all kinds of genre, he builds his own style from soul, funk and Brazilian rhythms.

He was raised between Marseille, Barcelona and Geneva. His very first experience in entertainment was theater thanks to his brother.

After his high school diploma he did his Bachelors in America to improve his language skills. At that time his friends gave him the nickname PATJE (little Pat).

Returning back to Europe, he worked in advertising and became the editor of a magazine. When he left this multinational firm and moved to Barcelona, Spain, in order to study at university, music and his love for entertainment came back into his life...

He decided to pursue this growing passion in Los Angeles. He discovered facets of himself and started growing and gathering popularity in this environment.

In 2002 he started playing with his band in many clubs around Los Angeles and released his first single. On stage he started singing in French, English and Spanish.

He began a new journey with his friend Ioannis; with him he played between Bora Bora and Paris. It was with Ioannis that he was the opening act for Jeanne Mas. This show took place at the Trianon in Paris.

2008 enabled him to prepare a new project. Today he is launching Pasaporte, his new album; available Autumn 2009.

Los angeles incas - part 2 of 2 (music of bolivia, peru & mexico on santa monica promenade) 4-18-99

LOS ANGELES INCAS – PART 2 of 2 (MUSIC OF BOLIVIA, PERU & MEXICO ON SANTA MONICA PROMENADE) 4-18-99 ALBUM: GOZANDO & ALTURAS AWESOME SOUTH AMERICAN MUSIC !!! Strings Charango The ‘charango’ is a tiny 10-stringed guitar made of an armadillo shell. It produces a sweet, happy, high-pitched sound and is perhaps the instrument which best symbolizes the blending of the two very different cultures – the Spanish and the Inca. The guitar was introduced to the Americas by the Spanish and the use of armadillo shells for the body of the instrument is uniquely native American. It is believed that the soul of the animal is kept alive by playing music and, in some charangos, the coarse hairs sparsely covering the shell continue to grow long after the instrument is made. The charango has an even tinier cousin named ‘waylacho’ (why-law-cho) and it produces a very high pitch. On the other hand, its brothers ‘ronroco’ and ‘rocongo’ are both large and lower sounding instruments but are crafted in the same manner as the charango. Only recently have wooden models of the charango family become common due to the decline in the armadillo population. Spanish Guitar The Spanish ‘guitar’ is made of wood and has six strings. It is found in virtually all parts of Latin America and is the most widely played instrument as well. Woodwinds Zampoña The ‘zampoña’ is known in other parts of the world as ‘pan pipe’. It is a series of bamboo reeds, each tuned to a specific note, and tied together. Zampoñas are ……

Old time fiddle music: gina richardson, gerry williams & friends: sweet sunny south 2011

Saturday tea time, Gina and Gerry asked ‘did we mind if they played while we ate’. Absolutely not! A few people came along and watched or were welcomed to join in. One of the highlights of the weekend for me. This vid is a complilation culled from about an hour’s playing. All tunes, I think in D or its modal environs . Some I know, others I am still seeking. (If anyone has the dots for Redlick let me know!)…

Circle of friendship : south amerindian native flute

I heard the same song played by Yauri, an Amerindian flautist from Equador who recently came to my hometown in Indonesia. This is the first song I’ve heard when I came to his performance….
